Stress is responsible for well over 1 billion dollars in direct medical costs each year. Indirect costs to industry is estimated to be over 50 billion dollars in lost time, absenteeism, reduced productivity, mistakes, low morale, high turnover, family problems related to stress, and alcohol abuse.
